Jon Stelzer joined Plaza Companies in 2007, following more than three successful decades in project management and the construction industry. Mr. Stelzer is primarily responsible for the companies’ development, design, and construction of medical, office, bioscience, biotech, and senior living facilities. Additionally, he and his team work closely on a wide range of projects, including physician office remodels, tenant improvement projects, and senior living modifications.
Mr. Stelzer leads a team of project management professionals that includes general contractors, architects, engineers and various consultants and support staff with a combined focus of delivering projects both on time and on budget. His responsibilities include, but are not limited to, participation in the development of the design document, review and evaluation of project schedules and budgets and supervision of on-site management and day-to-day quality control while ensuring a smooth hand off of completed projects to the building’s operational staff.
Mr. Stelzer has completed construction management for SkySong 5, SkySong 4 and SkySong 3, each a 150,000-square-foot biotechnology office building. He is currently completing the design for SkySong 6, a planned 340,000-square-foot, six-story building. He oversees all master development of SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, totaling 1.2 million square feet when completed. Mr. Stelzer managed the construction and development of Vi at Silverstone, a $242 million, 735,651-square-foot luxury senior living community in north Scottsdale. He also managed the construction of the award-winning Estrella Medical Plaza II in Phoenix, a 60,000-square-foot medical office building. And, he was part of the team that redeveloped Park Central in Phoenix, which included construction of the Creighton University Health Sciences Building and a 10-story, 2,001-space parking garage, both of which were award-winning projects.
Prior to joining Plaza Companies, Mr. Stelzer served as Project and Development Manager for Sun City West’s Roskamp Management and Development. He relocated to Arizona in 2001 and served as Senior Project Manager for the Chicago-based McShane Construction Corporation, where he proved instrumental in opening and running the Arizona office. He received his degree in Architectural Engineering from The Ohio State University.
